Other GMA 7 stars—from Tom Rodriguez to Jestoni Alarcon, from Dingdong Dantes to Mark Herras—likewise took breaks from their busy schedules, to participate in the network’s relief efforts.

They front-lined a special dubbed “Tibay ng Pusong Pilipino, a GMA 7 Telethon” on Nov. 17 (aired in the time slot of “Sunday All Stars”).

While its singers and actors performed onstage, the station’s news and public affairs personalities reported updates from affected areas in Central Philippines.

It was a day of hope and good old- fashioned bayanihan.

“Tibay ng Pusong Pilipino” is a joint undertaking of the GMA Kapuso Foundation and Dantes’ Yes Pinoy Foundation.

As of Nov. 18, 5 p.m., the GMA Kapuso Foundation has received P131,584,180.26 in cash and P7,087,370.14 worth of goods.
