Tweet and sour
DJ MO Twister showed his vulnerable side when he shed tears in “Juicy Express” after he and Rhian Ramos broke up. He may be so feisty and fearless but when it comes to matters of the heart, Mo is such a softie.
For someone who is always in control of the situation whether on TV or radio, Mo is overpowered by his emotions. There is nothing he won’t do for the woman he loves. As he says, “I always want to be better than the last boyfriend she had.”
No matter how hectic his schedule is, he can never be too busy for someone he cares for. Even during commercial breaks in our show “Paparazzi,” he calls up Rhian just to chat for awhile.
I am not privy to the reason behind their breakup, but based on what I heard, it all started when they had one of their spats online when he uploaded on Twitter pics of Rhian and him taken in the Santorini islands last Holy Week. This didn’t sit too well with Rhian’s folks so it blew things out of proportion.
I checked on Mo via text and he replied: “I’m still distraught but thanks.” I texted him an unsolicited advice: “If it’s only external factors getting in the way then it’s still worth saving. Rhian and you are well-suited for each other so I don’t think you have internal problems in your relationship.” He replied: “So many external problems.”
I saw Rhian at the opening of Esprit Megamall a few days after Mo cried on TV. Sadness was written all over her face. You could sense that she was just keeping a brave front. “I am speechless,” she said. “I am in shock.”
Mo’s tweets the past days have been so depressing:
“My whole body aches from pain as if I had a major gym workout even if I haven’t left the house in days.
“I didn’t break with Rhian via Twitter. This is absolutely the last thing I would have ever wanted us to encounter. This is a tragedy to me and one of the darkest moments of my life. I love Rhian dearly. She was the closest person to me… I would give anything to have my friend back.”
Mo is at the peak of his career. He’s a sought-after host and endorser, and one of the most popular DJs on local FM radio. His Podcast tops the ratings not just here but worldwide. He’s also set to write a column for a US magazine.
But knowing him, that’s all meaningless without a significant other. He knows the way to Rhian’s heart. Hopefully, there will be no more detour and roadblocks so Mo and Rhian can continue their journey together.
