Cool and calm weatherman

ROMERO. Underrated and underutilized.

Nydia Olores, televiewer: “On ‘24 Oras,’ weatherman Nathaniel Cruz stands out, because of his cool and calm demeanor, even when reporting about a super typhoon. How I wish news anchors, Mike Enriquez and Mel Tiangco, would loosen up and read the news in a less alarming way.”

Other notes:

Hector San Andres, businessman: “I recently watched Luis Manzano and KC Concepcion promoting SM shoes and clothes on YouTube. They exude charisma and self-confidence. It’s a plus factor that they’re both good-looking and college-educated. Let’s have more projects with them together, please!”

Yollie Mendez, housewife: “One of the most underrated actresses who should be seen more often is Chanda Romero.  She has aged gracefully—unlike many of her contemporaries, who have either become obese or have fallen victim to botched beauty-enhancement procedures!”

Dramatic scene

Razel Katada, office employee: “In a dramatic scene involving Sunshine Dizon and Tanya Garcia on ‘Villa Quintana,’ everything was going smoothly until the former delivered this line: ‘Aalis na ako—pampabigat lang ako dito!’ I tried to restrain myself from laughing, but couldn’t.

“The show’s writers should be aware that lines are there to strengthen a scene or move a story along—not to ruin them. For her part, Sunshine should see to it that she doesn’t say lines that make fun of her heft!”
