Taking control

A close friend of ours passed away after suffering a massive stroke. Throughout her life, she worked hard to give spiritual wisdom to others. Some thoughts to consider concerning human existence and our eventual departure from our earthly bodies:

When we’re born into this world, we initially have no control over our body. When we take our first step, adults rejoice. As we get older, we don’t just learn about controlling our body, we also begin to control our parents and friends. But, the adults tell us, “No, you have to follow us! We control you.”

A serious disease like cancer can hit us, making us realize the impossibility of controlling everything. If we reach old age, we realize how we slowly lose control over our vision, hearing, movement, etc.

Ultimately, we’re thrown into a situation where we lose control over everything again. At this point, we experience fear as we face the unknown. Some people put up a brave front and say, “I will fight this to the very end!” So, they struggle until they leave their body.

People who have faith in the Supreme do not fear nor fight death. They leave everything to God and experience inner peace and joy. God is the Supreme Controller—He takes care of those who love and serve Him. He takes them back to their eternal home, where there’s neither fear nor suffering, only loving devotion!
