Stars reveal their spookiest experiences

/ 06:58 PM October 21, 2013

Halloween is meant for lunar-powered creatures like me. Time to unleash the “Walking Dead.” We all need a little scare every now and then. The shivers down our spine give us a different sort of adrenaline rush. In the spirit of Halloween, I asked some celebrities about their spookiest experiences. It’s the witching hour! Don’t brew what I would not brew. Carpe Noctem!

JURIS’ recording captured an eerie voice.

We were rushing to finish the recording of my album “Dreaming of You” in the late hours of Oct. 31 until early morning of Nov. 1 [last year]. We heard a voice saying, “It’s you again!” while I was recording my solo part. We played it back and it was clearly recorded along with my voice. It sounded like a tired male voice telling me that I woke him up and that he had been seeing me there for days. My producer still has a file of that recorded track keeping it for posterity’s sake.

FEATURED STORIES

On Sept. 9, 2009, I had an accident in Boracay where I lost my close friend. A few days after, when I got home from the funeral, I dialed my phone by mistake. When I saw the digits pressed, they were 6-6-6, [which when read] upside down were 9-9-9—the exact date when my friend died.

When I was going through a low point in my life, I woke up screaming from a bad dream where there were “rewind and fast-forward scenes” of many bad decisions. Even if I ran away from each frame, I was still being chased. It seemed like a camera from a movie hunting me down. As I tried to free myself from the chase, I woke up screaming, “Please stop!” I opened my eyes and I found myself crying and gasping for air. Wide awake on the 25th floor of a high-rise condo in Las Vegas with floor to ceiling glass windows all around me, the nightmare continued. I heard voices that got louder and louder. From distorted noises, the sound cleared up like when you finally find the right station in a car radio. What the voices were saying would make your hair stand. The voices said, “Jump! Do it! Jump!” I asked myself if I was still dreaming. But regretfully, I was very much awake. I then tried to scream to drown out the voices with my own but it didn’t work. The next thing I knew, I was standing in front of the floor-to-ceiling window with my face pressed against the cold glass while my tears kept flowing. I started banging my head against the view of the Strip but I didn’t know why. Finally, as I got closer and closer to a very stupid decision, I screamed, “In Jesus’ name, stop! I

rebuke you!” And so it stopped!

Weird and spooky have become “normal” for me since I have a very high sensitivity when there is a “presence.” But one instance that really spooked me was when I was in Bohol… I was billeted in an old house converted into a hotel. I was resting when suddenly my bag, which was on the desk, fell to the floor. I ignored it, thinking it must have been the wind when suddenly the entire desk moved! I closed my eyes and tried to sleep it off but I felt someone put weight on my chest. I kept my eyes closed but I felt someone breathing on my face. Good thing my manager entered my room at that moment. We immediately transferred to another hotel.

NIÑO Muhlach recalls a seemingly cursed taping. LYN RILLON

It happened at the taping of “Iskul Bukol Book 2’s” Halloween episode in a haunted house in Antipolo City. The caretaker was an old lady who did not talk at all. She just stared at us the whole day. After each take, we would preview the scenes to see if they were good. When the shoot was over, we previewed the tapes back in the studio. The tapes were all blank. So we shot another Halloween episode in the studio instead.
