Rave for ‘Norte’

Indiewaire raves about Lav Diaz’s “Norte, Hangganan ng Kasaysayan.” Critic Eric Kohn included “Norte” in a list of “must-see underdogs” at this year’s New York Film Festival. Kohn noted that “the film’s four-hour running time “is sublimated into the storytelling so well that it’s practically beside the point.” He described “Norte” as “poignant … fascinating … Each moment flows beautifully to the next in this extraordinary rumination on how time, contrary to popular belief, doesn’t heal all wounds—but it can make them more vivid.” Bayani San Diego Jr.
