Singer Timmy Pavino sets return performance in Seattle

Timmy Pavino

SEATTLE—After nearly two years since he left Seattle for Manila to follow his dream in the entertainment industry, Timmy Pavino is coming back to the State of Washington for a live performance at the prestigious Benaroya Hall’s Illsley Ball Nordstrom Recital Hall on Oct. 12, at 7:30 p.m.

Pavino will later perform in other cities with the launching of his first all-original Pilipino music “The OPM Album” here in the US.

With Pavino and his live string orchestra, The Rosario Strings, are special guests Edward Granadosin (a master vocalist, recording artist and voice teacher), Bridget “Jhett’ Hermano (“American Idol” Season 12 finalist), Eva Sabiniano (a recording artist), Natalie Mae Nilo (a local artist), Kontagious Dancers, Vancouver BC’s The Powerhouse Station Artists (with headliners Awit Awardee Goldie, Variety’s Got Talent champion Jerrica Santos, 2013 TFCkat Champion Jhenesa Escaberte & 2012 Champion Russel Figueroa and back-up vocalists Angel Escaberte & John Paul Nilo) and several surprise guests.

Now 23, Pavino started performing at age 7 on the big stages of the historic Nippon Kan Theater in downtown Seattle and the Meany Hall of the University of Washington.

In 1997- 2009, he was featured in various concerts of Kuh Ledesma, Gary Valenciano, Martin Nievera, Pops Fernandez, Regine Velasquez, ZsaZsa Padilla, Sharon Cuneta, Basil Valdez and Van Ness Wu of the famous F4 group, to name a few, at theaters in Washington, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Vancouver BC and the Philippines.

A favorite in almost all the Filipino and other multicultural events in the King, Pierce & Snohomish Counties, Pavino has been acclaimed as Seattle’s Asian-American “Premier Pop Balladeer” and, recently, the Philippines’ “Prince of the New OPM” with his latest album “Timmy Pavino—the OPM Album.”

Aside from joining TV5’s “Kanta Pilipinas” last year, he has also performed at GMA 7’s “Walang Tulugan” and ABS-CBN’s “ASAP Rocks” in a duet with Angeline Quinto, and was featured at ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC), WOW Radio, DZMM, Gospel Jam, 700 Club Asia, UNTV’s “Rise & Shine,” Center for Pop shows and a lot of other special events in the community.

In November, he will be performing the lead role as Matt in the Broadway Musical “The Fantasticks,” his second Philippine stage performance after doing a role with the Repertory Philippines’ “Measure in Love (An Adaptation of Rent)” at the OnStage Theater.

“You & My Music,” Pavino’s first Philippine major solo concert held last July 13 at the famed Music Museum in Greenhills, San Juan, in Metro Manila, with special guests Zia Quizon & the Filipino Tenors, was a tremendous success.

“Timmy Pavino—The OPM Album” is now available digitally at iTunes, CD Baby, Amazon.com and is  distributed at all major music outlets in the Philippines by Star Records. It is a compilation of all original music by multi-awardees Soc Villanueva, Jungee Marcelo, Arnel de Pano, Cecile Azarcon-Inocentes with compositions by Pavino himself. The OPM Album will be available for sale at the concert night in Benaroya Hall. Some major prizes sponsored by MyPhone, Club Astoria, Palm Tours & Travel, Dermgem and others will be raffled off during the evening.
