Hungry diva throws a fit, makes media wait
Queenly behavior is par for the course for Screen Diva. On the set of a high-profile project, SD threw a hissy fit during dinner break. Turned out, the caterer had sent over a pathetic meal: a cup of rice and a measly serving of corned beef. SD saw red.
Was that why SD was in no hurry to emerge from the dressing room to meet with visiting reporters?
Pressed by the staff to hurry up, SD, who was doing her hair and makeup, exclaimed: “I don’t like being rushed.”
Hell hath no fury like a hungry star. File under F for Famished and Furious.
Friends in need

Article continues after this advertisementMS can’t say no to cash-strapped buddies. According to a mole, MS has lent at least P8 million to needy pals. But he’s too shy to collect!
At the rate he’s going, MS will be abused again and again. Would these fair-weather friends help MS if the situation were reversed?
Budding affair
Cute Hunk is being linked with Budding Politician. That’s no play of words: BP, who supposedly knocked up Glamorous Celeb, is a closet case.
BP is said to be the reason behind CH’s lavish lifestyle.
The affair was exposed because of one unhappy Gay Procurer. The “middle man,” who introduced the two, is irked because CH opted to go straight to BP, rendering GP redundant, as they say.
Rushes senses that vindictive GP is still pining for lost income.
Queer eye
Heard on the Radyo Inquirer program “Kliq Showbiz” (dzIQ 990 AM, Monday to Friday, 3 to 5 p.m.):
Hunky Guy is the butt of jokes on the set. Pretty Starlet and Handsome Partner were apparently bored while waiting their turn before the cameras. The two started mimicking HG’s rather delicate ways.
The impersonation was so spot-on, that an onlooker correctly ID’d HG!
Could PS be sour-graping because her supposed romance with HG had gone pfft?
Queer eye for a straight gal.
Bad dad
Picked up from the Inquirer tabloid Bandera:
Seasoned Performer is reportedly remiss in his duties as father.
SP got Beauteous Entertainer preggers. After BE gave birth, SP was suddenly afflicted with amnesia, neglecting to provide for his new family.
Turned out, SP was irresponsible even in his younger years. His first wife allegedly had the same complaint, and then some. SP was reportedly abusive as well. Bad dad.
Top of the Talk Shows
For those who missed last weekend’s TV gabfests (and why we are moved, if we are moved):
Claudine Barretto on her legal tiff with estranged husband Raymart Santiago: “Stronger na ako ngayon, mas kaya ko na harapin ang laban na ’to para sa mga anak ko. Kailangan na rin malaman ng lahat kung ano ba talaga ang totoo.” (Sige na, please.)
Claudine on Raymart: “’Di na ako affected sa kanya, pero ’yung galit, andiyan pa rin.” (Seems that’ll never go away.)
Claudine on her critics: “May mga taong gustong manggulo kasi bored ’yan sa buhay. Ang mas maganda, magdasal tayo, mag-feeding program na lang, mag-charity work kasi kakatapos lang ng bagyo. Magpasalamat na lang tayo na hindi binabagyo ang buhay nila. Kung wala silang maitutulong, huwag na lang sana makialam.” (Actually, you may want to heed your own advice.)
Claudine’s father, Miguel Barretto, on his children: “Masakit talaga because out of seven, we have several bad apples.” (Seven is several.)
Miguel, asked if he thought there was still a chance for his children to reconcile: “Palagay ko mahirap na.” (We second that.)
Inday Barretto on Raymart: “He failed to be a good husband, a good father, and he’s a bad man!” (Uh oh … triple whammy!)
Raymart on being labeled a bad man: “Alam nila ’yung totoo. Mommy (Inday), Daddy (Miguel) alam ni’yo ’yung totoo.” (And now that we’re involved here, why are we being kept in the dark?)
Raymart on Gretchen siding with him: “Siyempre nagpapasalamat din ako, kapatid nu’ng asawa ko ang kumakampi sa ’kin.” (Says a lot, doesn’t it?)
Heart Evangelista on reconciling with her father, Rey: “’Di mo mabibili ang pagmamahal ng isang tatay … Daddy’s girl ako.” (Aww. But it seems not so long ago … you were not!)
Heart, asked about her relationship with her mother, Cecile: “There are some things that you have to give more time to, it’s better that way.” (Hmmm …)
Katrina Halili, asked if she’d like a second baby soon: “Ayoko, huwag muna. Wedding muna.” (Hold that thought and catch up on sleep first.)
Katrina, asked if boyfriend Kris Lawrence had proposed marriage: “Joke, joke. Nagjo-joke siya … saka na.” (Is that a “no”?)
Dawn Zulueta on her crushes: “[Tinanong ako] kung sino raw ang crush ko sa mga young actors. Nasabi ko tuloy sina Gerald and Coco. Hindi nila alam, ngayon alam na nila.” (For all you know, crush ka rin nila. )
Benjie Paras on his sons, Andre and Kobe, not wanting to see their mother, Jackie Forster: “Sinasabi namin sa mga bata na huwag isasara ang pinto. As of now, masama ang loob ni’yo, natural iyan, pero kalalakihan niyo rin iyan.” (Good call. It’s their choice, really. But time heals, as we know.)
Kobe on his mother: “Wala, I don’t care, kasi I’m happy with the life I have now. I have a new mom; she’s better and she treats us the way that we want her to, not like what she (Forster) did to us.” (A very long time.)
Cristine Reyes on boyfriend Derek Ramsay: “Pareho kaming outgoing … family man, ’yun ang pinakagusto ko sa kanya.” (Projecting ka yata, sis?)
Cristine, asked in front of ex-boyfriend Rayver Cruz if she’s happy about her new relationship: “Ang awkward naman nito!” (May mas awkward pa d’yan, ’teh.)
Rayver, asked if he’s happy for Cristine: “Kung saan happy si AA (Cristine’s nickname), happy ako.” (Unoriginal, but good answer.)
Jessy Mendiola on allegedly being courted by Sam Milby: “Takot akong ma-in love ulit.” (No rush.)
What if Sam decides to wait until she’s ready to have another relationship: “Eh ’di good for … me. I really want things to happen at the right time. All I can say is, he’s a very nice guy.” (Oh, the thrilling possibilities!)
Maricel Soriano on working with Eugene Domingo in “Momzillas”: “Ang aga ko lagi sa set, excited dahil magkikita na naman kami … Araw-araw ang saya-saya ko.” (Si Uge kaya?)
Maricel on doing funny scenes with Uge: “Isang take lang kami!” (Gotta watch this.) Startalk, The Buzz
