Outstanding dance group deserves a showcase

DE BELEN. Flair for asking intimate questions.

Miko Circulado, student: “‘Talentadong Pinoy’ recently featured a knock-out performance by the outstanding dance group, the Nocturnal Dance Company.

“I agree with a judge’s comment that the group should be showcased internationally. It presented a rousing mashup of traditional Philippine dances, with inventive adjustments to the steps and music that clicked with young viewers. Paging the Department of Tourism?”

Other notes:

Vince Sarte, office employee: “The airing of the Miss World-Philippines beauty pageant was a downer. Aside from being sloppily presented (the hosts just read the cue cards), there were too many spots, mostly clips from GMA 7 programs.”

Intimate questions

Lyn Eleazar, housewife: “Janice de Belen is an engaging TV host who never insults her viewers. I have watched several telecasts of ‘Spoon’ on Net 25, and was impressed with her flair for asking intimate questions. I also appreciate that she talks to her guests in Filipino.”

Louie Barrera, televiewer: “A television news reporter’s job is never easy, especially when covering disasters, as we’ve seen in the devastation and havoc wreaked by habagat and Tropical Storm ‘Maring.’ These unsung heroes deliver blow-by-blow accounts of the news at the risk of putting their lives in danger. Kudos to them!”

Ed Fernandez, music enthusiast: “While on an OPM flashback mode, I remember listening to Freddie Aguilar’s ‘Kumusta Ka, Aking Mahal?’ in 1989 during my mother’s birthday. His music inspired me to persevere and survive a hard life. His songs were like a morning prayer in our household!”
