SANTOS. Premature ending for “Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala.”
Maria Tejorn, Mass Communications specialist: “It saddened me to hear about the premature Aug. 23 ending of ‘Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala,’ because it depicts women’s struggles and how they resolve conflicts.
“The show is quite absorbing, headlined by fine actresses, Judy Ann Santos and KC Concepcion. Previous efforts have been made to prolong some teleseryes due to their viewership, so this decision is demoralizing.”

Benjamin Salak: “I agree with Au Dizon’s recent comment that ABS-CBN is running out of plots for its teleseryes. However, her comment that part of the plot of ‘Muling Buksan Ang Puso’ about baby-switching was copied from ‘Ina, Kapatid, Anak’ was incorrect.
“The two babies (Kim Chiu and Maja Salvador’s characters) were twins who were separated at birth. The one in ‘Muling Buksan Ang Puso’ is more similar to ‘Mundo Mo’y Akin.’”
Plus factor
Jeanne Morales, student: “Although TV news reporters need not look and act like show biz celebrities, it doesn’t hurt if some of them look as good as Atom Araullo. It’s a plus factor that he’s good at what he does. I wouldn’t mind seeing him also pursue a career in acting.”
Eddie Rama, televiewer: “It’s disappointing to see Ms Susan Roces in her offbeat role in ‘Muling Buksan Ang Puso.’ She does it with too much bravado. Dante Rivero and Pilar Pilapil, who are assigned less important roles, do better.”
Mar Silvano, office employee: “From being a Kapuso for the longest time, Ogie Alcasid is now a certified Kapatid. TV5, however, hasn’t been so successful with its previous ‘recruits’—so, we hope that Ogie’s transfer will finally turn the tide in the network’s favor. Being a singer and comedian, Ogie can topbill a TV musical or gag show for TV5.”
