If you look at Liezl Martinez now, you wouldn’t believe that she was ever afflicted with the big C. It was in 2008 when Albert Martinez’s wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. It recurred in 2011 and metastasized to her left lung.
Fast-forward to 2013. Liezl, now 46, looks much younger. She dives, bungee jumps, and is a mother of three.
It was through her stepfather, Joey Stevens, that Liezl heard about Dr. Samuel Bernal, who talked about stem cell therapy at the Sofitel Bulong Pulungan forum this week.
The specialist’s resumé is impressive: He’s respected in the field of medical oncology and regenerative medicine and is a consultant at Medical City’s Institute of Personalized Molecular Medicine, which offers a comprehensive range of clinical and laboratory services in molecular therapeutics and stem cell therapy.
Bernal recommended stem cell therapy and chemotherapy with molecular profiling for Liezl. She had five cycles of chemotherapy and six sessions of stem cell therapy vaccine.
