MANILA, Philippines—After launching the international recording career of Filipino singing sensation Charice, 16-time Grammy-winning producer-songwriter David Foster is bent on discovering more young talents.
“I hope to find other natural-born singers out there… especially in the Philippines,” he told the Philippine Daily Inquirer in a phone interview Tuesday morning.
Aspiring singers aged eight years and older need to log on to the website borntosingasia.com, register and submit a four-minute video.
Foster said a panel of judges will pick two winners from the Philippines. The winners will get a chance to have a song recorded and produced by Foster and will also have the privilege of performing onstage with the “Hitman” at his concert on October 25 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Manila concert, which is part of the ongoing David Foster and Friends tour, will also feature singers Philip Bailey, Michael Bolton, Russell Watson and Charice.
Foster said this will be the last time that Charice will perform with him on tour. “She wants to hit a younger crowd and will record new songs with other producers,” he said.
