Her talent manager, Boy Abunda, tried convincing her to try acting but eventually gave up. She just wasn’t interested.
Since entering show biz in 2005, hosting the youth-oriented debate program “Y Speak” on Studio 23, Bianca has known she wouldn’t dare act, sing or dance, despite people saying she wouldn’t have much of a career hosting gigs alone.
“Parang trying hard naman yata kung mag-drama ako. When I started, I thought I’d be doing this for maybe just three years. Then ‘Pinoy Big Brother’ (PBB) came along. I’ve been around for eight years now, and I’m thankful that I still get to find work,” she told a small group of writers at her recent launch as endorser of Betadine Feminine Wash.
Support system
“It’s good to have a strong support system—friends, family, who believe in what you do,” Bianca added.
The closest thing to acting that she would do, Bianca said, was voice-overs à la Mary Alice Young in the hit TV series “Desperate Housewives.”
“I’d also like to dub cartoons! I’m a big fan of animated features. I watch a lot of those at home to de-stress,” she said.
Aside from hosting, Bianca dabbles in writing and modeling. “I wanted to become a writer, perhaps a director— anything creative, or behind-the-scenes work,” said Bianca, adding that she used to pitch her own concepts and ideas during brainstorming sessions on PBB.
No rush
Meanwhile, Bianca, who turned 30 in March, is not in a hurry to settle down with her boyfriend JC Intal.
In fact, she said, the PBA player hadn’t popped the question. “I don’t know when [I will settle down]; I cannot fix a concrete date, but that’s definitely something I’m preparing for,” she said.
