GMA Network – through its international channels GMA Pinoy TV, GMA Life TV and GMA News TV International – celebrated the Philippines’ 115th Independence Day by launching events in North America in partnership with Filipino-American and Filipino-Canadian groups and communities.
“Indio” lead star Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr., “Temptation of Wife” actors Marian Rivera and Rafael Rosell and recording artist Julie Anne San Jose joined the revelry in New York.
In California, the state with the largest population of Filipino-Americans, two commemorative events were held.
“Temptation of Wife” stars Dennis Trillo and Glaiza de Castro attended the “Pista sa Nayon” in Vallejo. In Carson City, Rivera, Rosell and GMA International received awards from different groups. At the Seattle Center, Trillo and De Castro top-billed the show.
De Castro also joined the parade and performed at the events held in Jersey City. The Philippine American Friendship Day Committee (Pafcom) presented plaques of appreciation to De Castro and GMA International.
Trillo, Rosell and De Castro entertained Filipinos in Toronto, Canada.
