Kim Chiu wins Outstanding Asian Star award in Seoul

The show-stopping performance of Kim Chiu as Juliana Lualhati in the drama “Linlang” earned her the Outstanding Asian Star award at the Seoul International Drama Awards 2024.

Chiu took to her Instagram page on Sunday, July 28, to celebrate her newest milestone, while sharing a glimpse of her invitation letter from the South Korea-based awards-giving body.

“I got the news today! I am lost for words… beyond thankful, grateful, and extremely happy!!! I can’t believe this is happening. Thank you to #SeoulDramaAwards2024 thank you, ABS-CBN @dreamscapeph, and most especially to my lovely supporters for all the unconditional love, support, time, effort, and much more,” she said.

Chiu said the award made her heart “full” while expressing her gratitude for the opportunity to represent the Philippines.

“I am very lucky to have you all behind and beside me. Thank you for making this possible! My heart is full! Maraming maraming salamat po! Korea, here I come,” she said. “Sa South ha? Hihi @seouldramaawards. Philippines represent.”

The actress received messages of support from her fellow celebrities in the comments, including Iza Calzado and Melai Cantiveros.

Chiu will receive her trophy at the Seoul International Drama Awards 2024 at the Yeoeuido KBS Hall in September.

According to its official website, the actress bested fellow nominees, namely, Indonesia’s Ochi Rosdiana, Malaysia’s Emily Chan, Singapore’s Desmond Tan, and Thailand’s Blue Pongtiwat Tangwancharoen and Poompat Iam-samang.
