Comedian Dinky Doo Jr. has died, as confirmed by his daughter through a post on his social media account on Tuesday, July 2.

“Family, Friends, Brethrens… This is his daughter speaking po. I’m here to inform po na wala na po si daddy (daddy is gone),” read the caption.

The post added that the comedian was pronounced dead at 7:20 a.m. on Tuesday.

Doo’s daughter appealed for prayers for the soul of his departed father.

“Please, all your prayers to my father and family for him to rest peacefully would be very appreciated. Like daddy would say, Salamat po sa Dios sa lahat po ng nangyayari,” continued the caption.

No cause of death has been revealed, but Doo had been known to be battling diabetes and high blood pressure complications since 2008. 

The comedian’s son, Jeremiah Clarion, also paid tribute to his dad on social media by posting an old photo of them with a heartfelt message.

“See you in 1000 years po Daddy Dinky Doo. Mananatili pong naka ukit sa aking puso at isipan ang lahat ng itinanim mo pong kabutihan at aral sa akin. Maraming Maraming Salamat po sa lahat Daddy. Mahal na mahal po kita,” he wrote.

(All the goodness and lessons you instilled in me will remain etched in my heart and mind. Thank you very much for everything, Daddy. I love you so much.)

Doo’s brother, Artstrong Clarion, also expressed his love and grief for his older sibling.

“Fly High Kuya Dinky Doo Jr. May your Soul Spirit have a safe Ascension.. How do you say to Mami and Erpat and Otol Al and Mel… You lived a full life and we are so proud of you… Rest in Paradise. We all love you,” he stated.

Doo’s career in show biz started in 1986 when he starred in the movie “Inday Inday sa Balitaw.” He then assumed sidekick roles that gained him a household name. He last appeared in the Kapuso series “Walang Matigas na Pulis sa Matinik na Misis.”

His other known projects include “Maria Went to Town” (1987), “Rock-a-Bye Baby: Tatlo ang Daddy Ko” (1988), “Small and Terrible” (1990), “Suddenly It’s Magic” (2012) and “The Fighting Chefs” (2013), among others.
