Fans of Boobay expressed worry once again after the comedian apparently lost his balance and became unconscious while hosting a town fiesta event in Aparri in Cagayan.

A lively Boobay—whose real name is Norman Balbuena—was singing and making commentaries while his co-host Pepita Curtis was doing an impromptu play with an audience member, as seen in a livestream of the event on Vice Mayor Rene Chan’s Facebook page on Tuesday, May 7.

Boobay suddenly stopped singing while the camera shot was focused on Pepita. A loud thud was then heard in the background, and the camera panned to Boobay who was already lying on the stage with his head leaning on one of the speakers.

Pepita and other staff members were seen rushing to an unconscious Boobay before the livestream went on a commercial break.

A few minutes later, Pepita, who was still not shown on the livestream, can be heard inviting the audience to watch their television programs “The Boobay and Tekla Show” and “All-Out Sundays.”

“Naano lang po siya, na-out of balance,” Pepita said of his co-host.

Boobay then returned to the stage and exchanged banter with his co-host, poking fun at what happened.

Hours after the event, Pepita took to his X (formerly Twitter) page to give an update on Boobay.

“Sa mga taga Aparri, maraming salamat po! OK na po si Boobay, nagpapahinga na po dito sa hotel,” he said.

Boobay, meanwhile, showed moments from his trip back to Manila via his Instagram Stories, and has yet to address the incident as of this writing.

It can be recalled that Boobay also had a medical-related incident on live television in April last year, after he had an absent seizure during an interview with TV host Boy Abunda.

The comedian disclosed at the time that such a condition was as an effect of suffering from a mild stroke in 2016.
