After the conclusion of the online voting for its “Swimsuit Challenge” Saturday, May 4, the Miss Universe Philippines 2024 pageant announced the five ladies who topped the poll, all inching closer to earning a guaranteed spot in the semifinals during the final competition.

In alphabetical order based on the places they are representing, the top vote-getters are Dia Maté from Cavite, Patricia Bianca Tapia from the overseas Filipino community in Hawaii, Alexie Mae Brooks from Iloilo City, Ma. Ahtisa Manalo from Quezon Province and Jet Hammond from the overseas Filipino community in Southern California.

“The winners were determined purely by votes, so remember to VOTE for your favorites in all our challenges. The top winner in every challenge will get an automatic spot in the Finals. #BayanihanVote for your favorite! Keep voting to support your delegate!” the Miss Universe Philippines pageant posted on social media on Sunday.

In last year’s pageant, the Swimsuit Challenge vote winner who earned a semifinal spot was Pauline Amelinckx from Bohol. She advanced all the way to the final three of the competition and eventually received the Miss Supranational Philippines title. She later placed second in the 2023 Miss Supranational pageant.

The next round of online voting for the national search is for the “Up Close & Personal” personality interviews, where the delegates were given an identical set of three questions by the pageant’s executive vice president, Voltaire Tayag. The ladies had 30 seconds to answer each question.

To vote, fans need to download the Miss Universe Philippines mobile app, and then go to the “Challenge Vote” tab where they can choose their preferred delegates. “Be sure to make the right choice! In case of a tie, MUPH will determine the winning delegate,” the national organization said.

Fifty-three ladies from all over the Philippines and overseas Filipino communities are competing to succeed reigning queen Michelle Marquez Dee, who finished in the Top 10 of the 2023 Miss Universe pageant, where she also earned four more distinctions.

The 2024 Miss Universe Philippines pageant will hold its coronation show at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City on May 22, with 2022 Miss Universe R’Bonney Gabriel and actor Alden Richards as hosts. “RuPaul’s Drag Race UK vs the World” season 2 finalist Marina Summers and pop band Lola Amour will perform.
