We had a special birthday dinner at home last Sunday, so we resolutely refrained from watching TV, the better to focus on the celebratory mood of the evening—and the food! But, some people in attendance were talking about the new game show, “The Million Peso Money Drop,” hosted by Vic Sotto, so we peeped into the program “for a few minutes”—and ended up watching it up to its chilling conclusion!

Vic Sotto’s new game show, “The Million Peso Money Drop,” got off to an exciting start last Sunday on TV5, with Eric and Epy Quizon playing for a cool and hot million bucks for their late dad Dolphy’s foundation’s projects. Alas, the evening didn’t have a happy ending for them, but up to the last question, they were doing really well.

The long-running noontime show “Eat Bulaga” now has an Indonesian version, aired on top network SCTV (or Surya Citra Televisi). The franchise features an Indonesian edition of “Pinoy Henyo,” dubbed “Indonesia Genius.” The show, which debuted on Monday, also has Indonesian remakes of “Juan for All, All for Juan,” “Bulagaan” and “Pambato ng Videoke.” The foreign counterpart of Bossing Vic Sotto is called Boss Uya or Uya Kuya.
