NASA responds to Beyonce’s Challenger sample use

The pop superstar explained the use of the short snippet at the beginning of her song "XO" from her new self-titled album after it brought criticism from the wife of the commander at the helm of the Challenger when it exploded in 1986 and others. NASA officials say the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster “should never be trivialized” in response to a new song from Beyonce that features an audio sample recorded just after the craft exploded on takeoff, killing all seven crew members.

Any time an artist receives the rare opportunity of having Eminem executive producing his/her upcoming major label debut, it only adds more pressure for that artist to meet sales expectations and to perform well in the charts. In light of this, Skylar Grey certainly has a lot to live up to. Even though her name isn’t that well known to us, she has finally made it to the mainstream scene. Thanks, of course, to her guest appearance on “I Need a Doctor” by Dr. Dre featuring Eminem. The song “I Need a Doctor,” which is nearly two years old, introduced us to Skylar Grey.
