Philippine Daily Inquirer Entertainment columnist Ruben V. Nepales was recently elected chairman of the board of the influential Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA)—the organization of journalists from all over the world that hands out the Golden Globe Awards annually.
“My Filipino Connection: The Philippines in Hollywood,” the first book of Philippine Daily Inquirer (PDI) columnist and Los Angeles correspondent Ruben V. Nepales, will be launched in New York on Wednesday, May 30, 6 p.m., at the Philippine Center on 556 Fifth Avenue.
Backstage at the Academy Awards on Sunday evening (Monday morning in Manila), the winners were more composed but still giddy. Most of them were open and candid, encouraged no doubt by their triumph.
