It has come down to this. As I write, it is December 23, two days before Christmas. My little family is fast asleep (including the newest member, an 11-week-old Shih Tzu puppy we named Lily). I’m sitting at the kitchen table looking at my Christmas paper still rolled, greeting cards still boxed, gifts waiting to be wrapped. Whoever said, “If it weren’t for the last minute, nothing would get done,” was spot on.
