Celeste Legaspi couldn’t recall exactly when the thought of taking a break from show biz crossed her mind. Was it 15 years ago, maybe 20? She wasn’t keeping count. But while the “when” is a bit hazy, the “why” couldn’t be clearer: The industry had ceased to tickle her.

Members of the four-man rock band Generation insist that it is a mere coincidence that they are children of local music legends. Keyboardist Mike and bassist Joe are sons of singer-songwriter Jose Mari Chan; lead guitarist Kowboy Santos’ mother is 1970s rock star Sampaguita; rhythm guitarist Ige Gallardo’s parents are singer-actress Celeste Legaspi and composer Nonoy Gallardo.

An actor simply can’t stay away for too long.
Singer-actress Celeste Legaspi, who’s in the cast of the GMA 7 soap “Ang Dalawang Mrs. Real,” is now a film producer, with the coming movie adaptation of the musical “Larawan.” Joanna Ampil and Rachel Alejandro will play Nick Joaquin’s Marasigan sisters, with Tom Rodriguez as Tony Javier. Loy Arcenas (“Niño”) will direct, with Girlie Rodis as coproducer. Bayani San Diego Jr.
DULCE (right) got nervous when she found out that Celeste Legaspi was watching last week’s performance of “Katy.” Celeste was the original Olivia, the character Dulce plays in the revival. “I saw Teteng (Celeste’s nickname) on her feet, clapping,” Dulce recalled. “I’ve always looked up to her. When I saw her at the lobby, I got emotional.” Celeste said she and Dulce share a special friendship. “We were both extremely overjoyed to share the role and the special song ‘Minsan ang Minahal ay Ako.’” Bayani San Diego Jr., Photo by Aaron Ching
