Hunky star, dangerous lover play with fire
The whispers are getting louder: Hunky Heartthrob has hooked a new closeted benefactor, High-profile Politico, who’s rich and wields considerable power.
So they’re secret lovers now and observers are scared for HH because HP is known for dangerous liaisons. Then again, HH’s bank account is said to have ballooned since the start of the affair, which, it can thus be said, is studded with perks and perils.
Seen HH’s luxurious new digs?
Smooth-talking Hotshot duped not a few seasoned insiders by dangling the prospect of work in a major production.
SH ran away with millions of pesos worth of cash that swiftly went pfft. As they say, SH can no longer eat lunch in this town. Banned, SH had no choice but to go into hiding abroad.
Surprisingly, SH was able to bounce back. As usual, SH is convincing investors to put hard-earned money into yet another fictitious project.
Senior Thespian must be feeling the pinch by now.
While Younger Costar was lauded for their project, ST was snubbed.
Not a few insiders think that ST’s personal troubles are a liability. On screen, ST comes across as inhibited, unable to convey the required emotions.
“ST looks constipated and unconvincing compared to YC,” a source commented.
Too many secrets have ruined a once promising acting career.
Heard on the Radyo Inquirer program “Kliq Showbiz” (dzIQ 990 AM, Monday to Friday, 3 to 5 p.m.):
According to the grapevine, Popular Star and Handsome Beau have a technique that allows them to be intimate without PS getting knocked up.
PS and HB make it appear that they’ve never been there, but now it turns out they are quite knowledgeable—so much so that they can conduct seminars on planned parenthood.
Picked up from the Inquirer tabloid Bandera:
Famous Starlet has let success go to her pretty little head.
FS was aloof on the set of a new project, according to Beautiful Starlet.
It’s possible that BS is merely jealous of FS’ good fortune. FS has been beating BS, not just in the popularity and acting departments but also in clinching plum projects.
Is this why BS and Gorgeous Cohorts are ganging up on FS?
Top of the Talk Shows
For those who missed last weekend’s TV gabfests (and why we are moved, if we are moved):
Keempee de Leon on dad Joey: “Perfect ang tatay ko kasi naging maayos kaming lahat. Hanggang ngayon, parang barkada lang kami at lahat kami masaya.” (Happiness: the true measure.)
Rocco Nacino, asked if he’d resume courting Lovi Poe: “Tingnan natin… wala namang naudlot kahit kailan!” (Why is yes or no so hard to say?)
Cesar Montano on Sunshine Cruz: “I’m very much in love with her… She’s my only wife. We’re in the process of healing and putting back together what we have lost.” (Two words for you: “Dugong Buhay.”)
Cesar on annulment rumors: “Wala naman kaming (ni Sunshine) nadi-discuss na gan’on.” (Of course not.)
Nadia Montenegro on reconciling with Annabelle Rama: “Nag-lunch kami… ang weird nga kasi parang walang nangyari… Happy ako, puwede na kaming mag-move on lahat.” (Kami rin, thank you.)
Bea Binene on her rumored tiff with Jake Vargas: “Normal naman po siguro kung may mga tampuhan, mga ganyan-ganyan. Pero we’re okay.” (At last, no scandal bait.)
Maricar Reyes on the best thing about husband Richard Poon: “He is the most unique gift I’ve ever had in my entire life. He really gets into your heart and sees you for who you are. He helps you fix your problems… he’s very positive.” (Where is this man from?)
Richard on Maricar: “I can be confrontational… I don’t really respond well kapag may nagdi-disagree sa akin. I’m still learning to be more graceful—and she has that peaceful strength.” (Is this the same man?)
Maricar on how she imagines her life with Richard after 20 years: “In a very nice house and with stable careers. Steady lang… maybe two or three kids.” (Quiet lang muna kami.)
Enchong Dee, asked if he’s affected by the closeness between Julia Montes and Enrique Gil: “Nothing wrong with that.” (We’ll see.)
Bea Alonzo, asked if she’s planning to tie the knot with Zanjoe Marudo soon: “Ay naku, hindi nga siya kasali sa usapan. Kami-kami lang [ng mga friends ko] nag-uusap about it, akala mo kami magpapakasal!” (Ano raw?)
Sarah Geronimo on father Delfin: “Source of strength, inspiration, idol… Sobra kong pinagpapasalamat ’yung pagiging faithful niya sa mommy ko… Kung magkakaroon man ako ng partner in the future, sana katulad ng tatay ko kasi kita ko ang pagmamahal niya sa amin.” (Oh, that’s why.)
Judy Ann Santos on being dubbed “Queen of Teleseryes”: “Bakit ako? Pressure naman nito! Hindi sa nagpapaka-humble, pero marami talagang iba pang puwede. Saka ’di naman lahat ng tao aayon na tawagin kang queen.” (Good point.)
Angel Locsin on her acting process: “Darating ako sa set memorized ko lahat—sequence guide, lines. Pero minsan on the spot lahat so kailangan mong mag-adjust. Hindi puwedeng sila mag-a-adjust. Kailangang alert ka.” (Good girl.)
Daiana Menezes, asked if she was raped and physically abused by her husband, Cagayan de Oro Rep. Benjamin Benaldo, as suggested by her controversial posts on social networking sites: “No… In a way, I was actually seeking [his attention]… I regret having brought him into [this] situation.” (Next time, leave us out of it.)
Daiana, asked what she has learned from the situation: “You have to be careful of what you say because it’s up to the interpretation of whoever’s seeing [it], especially because they don’t know you very well.” (Kami pa ngayon ang may problema. Anlabo!)
