Marie-France Arcilla

Filipino singer-actress Marie-France Arcilla and the cast of the musical “Working” were given the Special Ensemble citation by the 58th Drama Desk Awards in May.

Arcilla told the Philippine Daily Inquirer that she was “soaking in the prestige” of the award that she shared with cast mates Joe Cassidy, Donna Lynne Champlin, Jay Armstrong Johnson, Neha Joshi and Kenita R. Miller.

They were described as “a memorable ensemble of marvelously gifted singer-actors working together in pure artistic harmony.” New York magazine wrote: “When the extraordinary (Arcilla) bleats her gorgeous ‘Millwork’… we travel through the decades.” Arcilla had her start in the biz as a regular on the ABS-CBN youth show “Ang TV.” Bayani San Diego Jr.
