Gay star fails to rouse hunk
The scene they were doing had an unusual requirement for Virile Veteran and Hunky Newcomer: They were supposed to be aroused by the presence of thrilled Gay Costar.
While VV had no difficulty and willingly obliged, HN couldn’t fake it. The shoot was delayed as a result, so coworkers, including Grizzled Director, got upset.
Under extreme pressure, HN had a sudden attack of performance anxiety and failed to rise to the occasion.
GD was forced to work around HN’s “shortcomings.” The show must go on.
Time to quit
Far from charming, Visiting Artist turned out to be a nightmare for show organizers, who swore, “Never again.”
They described VA as “difficult, demanding.”
“Such a prima donna!” our source exclaimed. “And not even all that popular anymore.”
Mole said VA should seriously consider retirement. Aray!!
Seasoned Performer was smoking at the entrance of a busy building.
Controversial Politico approached SP, asked for a light and left in a huff. What, no thank you?
Paging Miss Manners!
Stylish Host granted a student and a cub reporter an interview via e-mail.
SH was appalled because the two newbies forgot to say thanks, too.
Common courtesy isn’t so common these days.
Heard on the Radyo Inquirer program “Kliq Showbiz” (dzIQ 990 AM, Monday to Friday, 3 to 5 p.m.):
Handsome Hunk is in demand among advertisers.
So when HH sauntered into a beauty salon one day, resident haircutter braced for a hefty tip.
After the trim, HH handed stunned stylist a measly P20.
Madame Curie, is that you?
Fast and furious
Picked up from the Inquirer tabloid Bandera:
After a tumultuous separation earlier, closeted Matinee Idol had rushed back to Model Lover’s waiting arms.
Defying his handlers, MI is now openly cavorting with ML.
MI and ML were spotted beach-hopping during the Holy Week vacation.
No fasting and abstinence for Lent?
Top of the Talk Shows
For those who missed last weekend’s TV gabfests (and why we are moved, if we are moved):
Heart Evangelista on reports that she and Sen. Chiz Escudero have tied the knot: “’Di pa kami engaged. Marami pa akong kailangang gawin. May two-year contract pa ako sa GMA 7.” (One has nothing to do with the other.)
Alessandra de Rossi on finding love: “Inaaway nga ako ni Heart (Evangelista). Kaya raw ako ’di nakakahanap ng boyfriend kasi ayaw ko raw mag-kilay at mag-blush-on… Ilako niyo na ’ko. Konti na lang ang natitirang panahon. Lampas na ako sa prime ng kagandahan ko!” (Dahil lang ayaw mong mag-kilay at mag-blush-on?)
(Fine.)
Krista on Cesar and Sunshine Cruz parting ways: “Siyempre nakaramdam ako ng lungkot para sa kanilang dalawa. Sayang ’yung family nila.” (Hindsight is always 20/20.)
Lorna Tolentino on playing Edita Burgos in the coming indie drama “Burgos”: “Binabasa ko pa lang ’yung script, sumisikip na ’yung dibdib ko.” (Lalo na siguro si Edita Burgos.)
LT, asked if she still gets affected by intrigues: “Oo naman. Pero bale wala ’yun kung ikukumpara sa mga problema ng ibang tao.” (Yes, perspective!)
John Lloyd Cruz, asked if he really spent millions for his vacation with Angelica Panganiban in Palawan: “Ano naman ang intriguing dun? Kahit naman saan ka magpunta kailangan mong magbayad.” (It’s the “millions” part.)
Maja Salvador, prodded to confirm her relationship with Gerald Anderson: “Gusto ko pong sagutin. Pero sana po hayaan niyo na lang muna ako at ’yung ngiting nakikita niyo sa ’kin.” (Anuva!)
Lea Salonga on being bashed on Twitter: “I’m just very opinionated… Bata pa lang ako nasasabihan na akong suplada. Sanay na ako.” (All eyes on “The Voice!”)
Vice Ganda, asked if G-Force Jan Noval is his boyfriend: “Anak-anakan ko ’yun. Kasama ko siya araw-araw kasi magbabarkada kami.” (Euphemism ’yan, di ba?)
