The truly enlightened soul

Some five hundred years ago, there was a very humble and enlightened soul who was ridiculed by his townmates. He loved to recite the Bhagavad-gita, but because he was not able to properly pronounce the words, the townspeople laughed at him.

In the sacred book, the Supreme Person is instructing the warrior, Arjuna. Arjuna was confused, so he inquired, “What should I do in my life?”

The Supreme Person replied, “Abandon all varieties of religion and simply surrender to Me.  I will protect you.”   He also said to Arjuna, “Offer all your activities to Me with love and devotion.”

In other words, the essence of our existence is to become the humble servant of the Supreme Being Who will give us protection. There is only one Supreme Protector Who loves everyone.  And the simple goal of life is to cultivate our love for Him.

FEATURED STORIES

The simple soul who found great pleasure in reciting Bhagavad-gita could taste the nectar of love for the Supreme Person.  The people who laughed at him were blind to the essence of spirituality. They focused on the trappings, but made fun of those who actually had the wisdom and understanding.

Let us follow the example of the surrendered soul who prays with utmost humility, “I am a fallen soul.   Please guide me and give me protection.  Let me know You. Let me love You.”

If you pray sincerely, the Supreme Person will answer your humble prayer.  That is guaranteed.
