Double win for ‘Mondomanila’ in Bangalore Queer Fest
MANILA, Philippines — Filipino filmmaker Khavn De la Cruz’s “Mondomanila” won two special mention honors — best feature
and best director — at the 5th Bangalore Queer Film Festival in India.
De la Cruz himself relayed the good news to the Philippine Inquirer, adding that after Bangalore, “Mondomanila” will compete on April 9 at the 10th Dokumentarfilmwoche in Hamburg, Germany, where the indie film will also have a DVD and theatrical release.
De la Cruz was among the honorees in the Inquirer’s first Indie Bravo! Tribute three years ago.
