Esteemed veteran snubbed at splashy event
This made our mole really mad: Beloved Veteran gamely attended a splashy industry event recently, but the disorganized organizers failed to give BV due importance.
Has-beens and never-weres were called onstage during the program. BV, ever-gracious, took the snub in stride.
Angry mole suspects the guest list got messed up because producers did not hire a professional talent coordinator.
BV was collateral damage.
Drum beaters are hyping up Pretty Starlet’s supposed acting prowess. An insider, however, told Rushes that Seasoned Actress nearly lost her cool when she had to share a scene with PS.
A simple sequence had to be shot several times simply because PS couldn’t deliver. It wasn’t the first time. When she was younger, PS had to repeat a single line of dialogue a dozen times before she could get it.
Actually, she bungled the line to the bitter end. Perhaps she should have been given a speech coach from the get-go.
In the name of love
Picked up from the Inquirer tabloid Bandera.
Hot Hunk has been hooking up with rich benefactors since he was a teenager back in his hometown.
A source insists that HH was, in fact, Flamboyant Gay’s boy toy. But HH kept asking for expensive gifts and FG got fed up soon enough. HH then moved on to wealthier prey with heftier bank accounts, including Scandalous Celebrity, who ended up parting with millions in the name of love.
Overheard on the red carpet during the 29th Star Awards: Drama actress Jaclyn Jose almost bumped into Albie Casiño at the AFP Theater lobby.
Jaclyn’s daughter Andi Eigenmann has a baby with Casiño and the handsome star isn’t exactly on good terms with the ladies.
According to PDI’s Allan Policarpio, when the press pointed out that Casiño entered the hall minutes before she did, Jaclyn quipped: “Really? Good thing I didn’t see him. Actually, I don’t want to see him.”
And if their paths had crossed? “Not tonight!” Jaclyn exclaimed. “I’d have shut my eyes.”
Sought for comment on those statements, Casiño, to his credit, managed to be diplomatic: “I respect that. It wouldn’t have been comfortable for anyone.”
Heard on the Radyo Inquirer show “Kliq Showbiz” (dzIQ 990 AM, Monday to Friday, 3 to 5 p.m.).
Hunky Star takes a looong time in the dressing room—probably longer than his Pretty Partner does.
HS’ vanity adds fuel to the burning rumors about his sexuality. His cheeks always look too rosy, his lips too luscious.
Easy on the makeup, dude.
Ready for daddy-home
LOS ANGELES—Michael Bublé has sold millions of albums, but as he readies the release of his newest project, he’s less concerned with his future sales, thanks to his wife’s pregnancy.
“I’m nervous and excited, and truly I think it’s given me great perspective,” the singer said at the music video shoot for his new single, “It’s a Beautiful Day.”
He continued: “I used to worry about how the single would do and how the record would sell. And the truth is, I love this record. I’m so proud of it. But, at the end of the day, if it sells 10 million or 10 copies, I’ve got bigger fish to fry.”
Bublé married Argentine actress Luisana Lopilato in 2011. They announced in January they’re expecting their first child, and his publicist confirmed Thursday the couple are expecting a son. AP
Top of the Bandera
The top show biz news in the Inquirer tabloid Bandera (why we are moved if we are moved.)
Porke ba komedyanteng chaka, wala nang karapatan!?’
Kakai Bautista, Mario Maurer, nagsasabihan na ng “I Love You.” (“American Idol” judges repeatedly say that to the contestants—doesn’t mean much at this point.)
Ryzza Mae: Gusto kong maging katulad ni Bossing! (Male?)
(That’s what it looks like.
(How does that work?)
Kiko. (Let’s leave this up to them, dudes.)
Venus Raj, Andrei Felix walang kilig factor kaya raw tsinugi sa “Umagang Kay Ganda.” (Funny, we didn’t notice.)
(The week’s most boring award goes to this one.)
Maja “pailalim” kung tumira kay Kim. (Oh, wait, maybe this one.)
(Me gano’n pa?)
Mas feel ang foreigner na dyowa, ayaw sa Pinoy; Paolo Ballesteros: wala akong love life… pero sex life, secret!!! (Dude, kung secret, keep it down.)
(That’s okay, dami namang iba d’yan.)
