Paulo Coelho’s “The Alchemist” was my favorite book back in college. It’s about a shepherd looking for inspiration and the meaning of life. It’s also about a dreamer who discovers that dreams could come true if you have faith in yourself.
It’s special to me because I read this at a point in my life when I was still unsure of whether to pursue law school or to go full-time in acting and theater.
It taught me about my “personal legend” and how to discover it. It’s a type of book that you can read while on the beach or while on a long trip on the plane.
A friend, Paolo Fabregas, introduced me to this book. I’ve read Coelho’s other books up to “The Zahir.” Marinel R. Cruz
