Good day Mr. Nepales!

I read your March 3 article in the Inquirer about the Fil-Am student who handed out trophies at the Oscar awards. As we watched the replay of the Oscars here in Abu Dhabi, most of us were convinced he was, indeed, Filipino, but weren’t quite sure if he had been introduced as such.

Your article confirmed that. Thank you for sharing it with your readers.

By the way, while I was back in the Philippines last December, I bought your book, “My Filipino Connection.” I read it in one sitting. It was a fascinating and interesting read. Well done. Even my mother and sister enjoyed it.

You are doing a great job elevating the “Filipino-ness” in that part of the globe, and I hope it transcends all parts of the world.

Mabuhay ka Ruben! Godspeed!
