‘Always … Whitney Houston’ tonight on GMA News TV

On the eve of the first anniversary of Whitney Houston’s passing, GMA News TV airs “Always …Whitney Houston,” a documentary that takes viewers through the journey of her career and how it began like a magical dream.
Whitney started off singing gospel with her renowned mother Cissy Houston, her cousin Dionne Warwick and her godmother Aretha Franklin. Soon after, she moved to modeling for major magazines.
In 1983, Clive Davis was so impressed with Whitney that he offered her a recording contract. This film delves into how she transitioned into becoming one of the world’s best-selling music artists of all time and how her crossover appeal then propelled her acting career at the box-office with “The Bodyguard.” “Always … Whitney Houston” airs at 11 p.m. tonight on GMA News TV Channel 11.
