Mother Lily Monteverde to undergo surgery Thursday

MANILA, Philippines—Mother Lily Monteverde will undergo surgery to remove a growth in her lungs on Thursday, she told INQUIRER on Wednesday.

Monteverde said she was visited two days ago by President Benigno Aquino III and Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas in her home in Greenhills, San Juan City.

“I was touched by their visit. We talked for two hours. I am thankful for their love and concern,” she said.

Monteverde owns one of the longest running film production company, Regal Films, among other businesses related to hotels and resorts.
