What love does to Alex Gonzaga
ALEX Gonzaga is blooming.
Alex Gonzaga is in full bloom. That’s what love can do. She’s blissfully happy with her boyfriend, Jed Tiu Lim. “He’s very supportive,” she told me, beaming. “I don’t mean to sound holier-than-thou but I think our relationship works because we put God in the center.”
What’s Ate Toni’s love advice to her? “She tells me to trust our parents’ discernment and wait for God’s time.”
Don’t they have professional rivalry? “None at all,” Alex said. “Competition pa siguro (laughs). I look up to my Ate. I learn much from her.”
Via Instagram, Toni posted a pic of Alex to go with her very touching birthday message. On the other hand, Alex posted a pic of her Ate Toni’s gift to her (Tori Burch items) with a matching sweet caption. The fab sisters are forever in each other’s corner.
Cool host
Chiz Escudero is a natural at TV hosting. Being paired with Kris Aquino in ABS-CBN’s “Kris TV” yet again this week (he was guest host for two cycles last year) is no small challenge but he’s definitely up to it. The cool senator comes across as a seasoned trouper.
“I thank Kris for this opportunity,” he says. “I’ve long wanted to be a TV host, though my real calling is public service.”
Chiz has become a YouTube sensation, too, because of the “Oppa Gangnam Chiz” video, which can be viewed via his Facebook account. “It wasn’t that easy to do,” he confesses. From whatever angle you look at it, Chiz ticks!
All systems go
It’s all systems go for Aga Muhlach after the Comelec (Commission on Elections) declared him a natural-born Filipino. Amid all the intrigues hurled his way by his political rivals, he remains undaunted. “I never venture into anything unprepared,” he said during a press con. “[I] hope [I’m given] a fair chance to show what I can offer.” He’s bursting with excitement when he talks about his plans for CamSur. You can tell that his heart is 100 percent in it. With Aga’s childlike enthusiasm, I can tell that he will stop at nothing to do what needs to be done and give what needs to be given.
Keeping silent
Since I have been quoted in various articles online and interviewed on TV about the marital woes of my BFF (best friends forever) Cesar Montano and his wife, Sunshine Cruz, people have been badgering me for the latest score.
Out of respect for this couple, whom I love dearly, I’d rather not say anything at this point. I don’t want to rock the boat. Amid the controversy, I salute Shine for carrying on with her motherhood duties and I also doff my hat to Buboy for working hard to finish “Turning Cradle: The Untold Story of Alfredo Lim.” It’s not easy to raise kids and face the camera with a heavy heart. I believe so much in the love that Buboy and Shine have. Hopefully, when the noise dies down, they can still hear their hearts telling them that they have more reasons to hold on than to give up.
