HEARD:Jaya Ramsey diagnosed with diabetes

Many Filipinos are Type II diabetics and not know it because of the lack of information or medical care.  As a diabetic for many years it is good that Jaya is pro-active.  It can be controlled with diet (white rice is notorious, I only eat 2 tbsp of rice per meal), exercise, home glucose monitoring and regular followup with your doctor.  Unfortunately, despite of all the care, many diabetics still have complications such as kidney disease, eye issues, limb numbness-circulation problems, heart complications etc. IMHO, I hope our countrymen and goverment put more attention to this potentially devastating health issue.
