Charo Santos-Concio is new CEO of ABS-CBN

MANILA, Philippines—Charo Santos-Concio is the newly appointed chief executive officer of ABS-CBN Corporation, the network announced via a statement on Tuesday.

Her appointment takes effect on January 1, 2013.

Santos-Concio still maintains her position as president and chief content officer, the announcement added.

Eugenio “Gabby” Lopez remains ABS-CBN Corp. chairman of the board.

Santos-Concio is popularly known as host of the longest-running weekend prime-time drama, “Maalaala Mo Kaya”.
