Lawyer Villareal is the new MTRCB chair

mtrcbMANILA, Philippines—Lawyer Eugenio “Toto” Villareal is the newly-appointed chair of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB), a source close to Villareal told the INQUIRER on Wednesday.

Villareal takes over the post from Grace Llamanzares-Poe, who is part of the Liberal Party senatorial lineup for the 2013 midterm elections.

In an interview, Villareal told the INQUIRER that his mission is to make the board more relevant and responsive. He added he also aims to raise awareness about the new classification system for television and the movies.
