Nora Aunor, Eddie Garcia get Asia-Pac fest nods
Philippine Daily Inquirer
Two Filipinos have earned nominations for the 55th Asia Pacific Film Festival: Nora Aunor, best actress for Brillante Ma. Mendoza’s “Thy Womb;” and Eddie Garcia, best actor for Jun Robles Lana’s “Bwakaw.”
The fest is set December 13 to 16 at the Venetian Resort Hotel in Macau. Boy Palma, Aunor’s manager, told the Inquirer that she’s hoping for another victory, quick on the heels of her best actress win at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards in Brisbane.
Palma said it would make Aunor’s fans “happy.” Lana, who received the letter from the fest, said Garcia deserves to win. Bayani San Diego Jr.
