SNAPPED
Bongga ka, Guy!
Philippine Daily Inquirer
The scene recalled the heyday of disco, when “Annie Batungbakal” was queen. She was the titular character in the 1970s hit song by Hotdog, which inspired a film of the same title.
Friday night, the star of that film, Nora Aunor, sat with fellow TV5 talents near the door of Jill’s, on the Fort Strip of Bonifacio Global City. The club is co-owned by TV5 president Ray Espinosa. DJ Jon
Tupas was debuting as resident spinner.
While Jon played a four-song sweep—“Rock with You,” “September,” “Holiday,” “Just Can’t Get Enough”—someone grabbed Nora’s arm and led her to the dance floor. In knee-high leather boots, “Annie” started shaking her hips like it was 1979 again.—Pocholo Concepcion
