Variety cites ‘Aparisyon’


US trade paper Variety has published a rave review of Filipino-American Vincent Sandoval’s “Aparisyon.” Critic Richard Kuipers called the Cinemalaya entry an “intelligently scripted and deeply moving mood piece.” The indie drama—which topbills Jodi Sta. Maria, Mylene Dizon, Raquel Villavicencio and Fides Cuyugan-Asensio— competed at the Busan fest, which ended Saturday. It also vied for the Dragons & Tiger award at the Vancouver fest, which ended Friday. Bayani San Diego Jr.
