Marilou Diaz-Abaya shares the good news about her health condition on her Facebook account. The multi-awarded director, who has been battling cancer for five years now, said: “The cancer cells in my brain have been reduced significantly since my radiation program three months ago. I’m off chemo for a whole month—just daily hormone pills which, hopefully, will relieve me from the usual side effects. Then, the next (series of) tests will determine how (I should) proceed. I intend to get more physically active during this respite period. (By the way), this happy development happened during the (fiesta of Our Lady of Peñafrancia in Naga City) last week. So I ask Ina to bless all those who pray for me. Thank you and cheers!” Marinel R. Cruz
