HIS dressing room at Teatrino in Johannesburg, where “Phantom” production ongoing at the CCP until Sept. 30 was staged before it came to the Philippines.

the Philippines—and Manila’s latest heartthrob as Erik the Phantom—dedicates his every performance to his doting grandparents Didi and Papa. Inquirer strayed into his dressing room in Johannesburg earlier this year and found among the souvenirs that included fan mail, friend’s notes and presents…a teddy bear that Johann Kupferburger (company manager for the South African production team) said was a gift from Papa.

Jonathan is a doting star to the crew as well. Thumb-tacked to a bulletin board was a letter from him that said: “To Our Crew (The ‘Greatnesses’): You guys are our guardian angels on this production.
