‘Señorita’ wins in NY fest

Vincent Sandoval won the emerging director award for “Señorita” at the 35th Asian American International Film Festival held in New York recently.

Since Sandoval was busy with the screenings of his latest film “Aparisyon” at the just-concluded Cinemalaya fest, the honor came as a “wonderful surprise.”

He told the Inquirer that the award’s jury was headed by John Anderson, a critic for Variety.

“I’m planning to shoot my third film in New York next summer so this is quite encouraging.”Bayani San Diego Jr.
