Miracle times two

Two “restored” Filipino film classics by National Artists Manuel Conde and Ishmael Bernal will be screened in this year’s Venice fest, programmer Paolo Bertolin told the Inquirer.

Apart from “Genghis Khan” by Conde and Lou Salvador, the “restored, High-Definition” version of Bernal’s “Himala” will have its world premiere in Venice.

The restoration of “Himala” was a collaboration between the ABS-CBN Archives and Central Digital Lab. With Brillante Mendoza’s “Thy Womb” in Main Competition, Nora Aunor will topbill two films in Venice this year.Bayani San Diego Jr.
