MANILA, Philippines—A son of actress Rosanna Roces figured in a road accident when his car smashed into the vehicle of a police officer in the Tomas Morato area in Quezon City Friday morning.

Inspector John Ganzon, commander of Traffic Sector 4 of the Quezon City Police District, said Roces’ son, Dennis Robert “Onyok” Adriano, 20, a bar production head and resident of Provident Village, Marikina City, would be charged with reckless imprudence resulting in damage to property.

Ganzon, quoting witness accounts, said Adriano was driving along Tomas Morato near the Scout Circle when his Ford Lynx (WRH 653) rammed into the Mitsubishi Lancer (WCP 185) of Inspector Feliciano Almojuela Jr., 45, of QCPD Station 1, at around 5:30 a.m.

Initial investigation showed Adriano had gone bar hopping with friends and was in a convoy of five vehicles on Tomas Morato Ave. and headed toward Kamuning Rd. when he rammed into Almojuela, who was driving along Timog Ave. toward EDSA.

“(Adriano) was incoherent and could barely answer questions of policemen. He seemed drunk at the time,” Ganzon said.

“The group, including two girls, appeared to be all drunk,” the police official said.

Ganzon said the force of the impact caused Almojuela’s car to spin several times before it ground to a halt.

Almojuela sustained minor injuries but his vehicle suffered heavy damage on its left side.
