MANILA, Philippines—Ailing Comedy King Rodolfo “Dolphy” Quizon was able to talk, a party-list official who visited the 83-year-old actor at the hospital Thursday night said.

Arlene Brosas, secretary-general of Akap-Bata partylist, said she saw Dolphy talk from the viewing room.

“Naka-lean kasi siya sa side kanina.  And maraming tao doon sa loob. Lahat, yung mga anak niya. Tapos si Zsa Zsa [Padilla] nandoon. Plus may viewing room, may viewing window. Yung ibang mga tao na nasa labas noon including us ay nagview doon sa window,” she said.

Brosas said Dolphy was still in tubes but “he can talk na kasi naglean-over yung priest kanina and parang tumawa yung priest so ibig sabihin he’s talking.”

She said Dolphy also opened his eyes.

Brosas went to Makati Medical Center Thursday night to give Dolphy a letter and flowers.

She said it was Nicole Quizon, Dolphy’s daughter, who took the flowers given by her group.
