‘Ang Sayaw Ng Dalawang Kaliwang Paa’ wins big in 35th Gawad Urian

MANILA, Philippines—The 2011 Cinemalaya entry “Ang Sayaw Ng Dalawang Kaliwang Paa” bagged seven awards including Best Picture at the 35th Gawad Urian held late Wednesday night in Quezon City.
It also won acting awards for Paulo Avelino (Best Actor) and Jean Garcia (Best Supporting Actress).
Maja Salvador took home the Best Actress trophy for her portrayal in “Thelma” while Art Acuña won Best Actor for his performance in “Niño.”
“Ang Sayaw Ng Dalawang Kaliwang Paa” also won Best Director and Best Screenplay for Alvin Yapan as well as Best Cinematography for Arvin Viola and Best Music for Christine Muyco and Jema Pamintuan.
Other winners include: Maulen Fadul (The Natural Phenomenon of Madness) for Best Production Design, Lawrence Fajardo (Amok) for Best Editing, Albert Michael Idioma and Addiss Tabong (Amok) for Best Sound, “Tundong Magiliw” for Best Documentary and “Sirip” for Best Short Film.
