Now it all makes sense.
Disgruntled Lover continues to bug Pretty Starlet, who seems to have moved on since their breakup.
To get even, DL is spreading the nasty rumor that PS is the current mistress of Controversial Celebrity.
CC is very much married, but the talk is that PS was blinded by the extravagant lifestyle of the rich and infamous.
Unfortunately, the scuttlebutt reached CC’s Pugnacious Wife, who naturally raised hell—further fanning the flames and lending credence to DL’s hate-filled campaign.
Naïve Neophyte started avoiding loved ones after becoming friends with High-flying Star.
Relatives are scared that HS is a bad influence on NN. They suspect that HS is teaching NN to drink and party all night.
Worse, they are worried that HS may push NN to hook up with dirty old men in order to afford certain luxuries.
It can be hard to keep up with HS, who has a fondness for designer labels and expensive gadgets.
NN is clueless, said a source.
Looks can be deceiving.
In his TV and movie projects, Young Actor seems so innocent, like he couldn’t harm a fly.
But YA’s deep, dark secret is finally out. Photos of him smoking and drinking incessantly have been circulating online.
Now there’s talk that YA is also temperamental and gets violent when drunk.
Could it be because YA’s a spoiled mama’s boy?
Veteran Star has been lying low of late.
There is talk that Rival Studio is trying to lure VS into its fold.
Even if VS transfers, an insider says, it will have zero effect on his current projects. VS will not be missed at all, said the source.
Apparently, VS has an inflated sense of self-importance.
For business or pleasure
Mole insists that Handsome Hunk, Screen Stud and Macho Actor are flesh peddlers who charge P20,000 a night.
The boys allegedly turn over more than half of the fee to their management company, which tolerates the illicit activities.
If the “date” is booked without the firm’s knowledge, HH, SS and MA can lower their fees to P5,000.
The three are said to have become bisexual, and now turn tricks not just for business but also for pleasure.
LONDON—“I Feel Love,” the 1977 hit by disco queen Donna Summer, shot back into the British charts days after the singer’s death, the Official Charts Company said on Sunday.
The track came in at No. 45, and four other songs by Summer returned to the top 200, it added.
Summer, whose sultry voice and pulsing rhythms on hits like “Last Dance” and “Love to Love You Baby” defined the disco era, died from cancer on Thursday at age 63. Reuters
Sitting it out
CANNES, France—Gerard Butler is at the Cannes Film Festival, but he’s avoiding the famous red-carpeted stairs.
The Scottish actor was sitting on a yacht in the Rivera harbor Sunday, ready to chat about his coming revenge thriller, “Motor City.”
Shooting starts in September, and Butler is about to start “beefing up” for the role.
He says he won’t be seeing any of the movies premiering at Cannes because he doesn’t want to upstage the other actors.
Butler says: “You can’t really go down other people’s press lines. You have to make sure you’re politically correct. It’s a bit of a bummer.”
“Motor City” will be directed by Albert Hughes and costars Gary Oldman. AP
Top of the Talk Shows
For those who missed last weekend’s TV gabfests (and why we are moved, if we are moved):
Jennylyn Mercado on rumors that she didn’t go to a GMA 7 event in Boracay because she was avoiding her ex, Dennis Trillo: “Nag-sprint ako, tapos natagtag ’yung calves ko. ’Di ako makalakad nang maayos … tapos sinabayan ng high fever … Alam ko naman na kasabay ko sa eroplano si Dennis kung natuloy man ako … Masaya na naman kami sa kanya-kanya naming buhay so I don’t think magkakaroon ng problema pa.”(If you didn’t want to see him, that’s OK, really. No need for excuses.)
Parang meron kaming telekinesis! We can talk to each other with our brains.” (Telepathy would explain that a lot better.)
Sam Pinto on rumors that she’s the reason behind Derek Ramsay and Angelica Panganiban’s breakup: “I don’t know his number, he doesn’t know my number … I know the truth. Ang dami nang namba-bash, sobra. Hello, may proof ba kayo?” (So many names are being dragged into this movie promotion scheme, it’s exasperating! )
Katrina Halili on seeing the 4D image of her baby: “Parehas ng tenga ko, parehas ng lips ko, parehas ng mata, ng chin at shape ng mukha!” (A mini-me!)
Heart Evangelista on why she and Daniel Matsunaga broke up: “We’re very different … at the end of day, it’s still different when both of you come from different worlds. The cultural differences come in, you fight about little things. And it’s just an accumulation of little things. But it doesn’t mean that the other person is horrible or masama ang ugali. No, nothing like that.” (Hindsight is always 20-20, as they say.)
Heart Evangelista, asked how things are between them: “I haven’t talked to him. I think that’s what’s really gonna happen after a breakup —you give each other time. But I’m not angry. Everything is OK, and I hope we can be friends again.” (Hmm, let us guess. Win-win formula: A movie together!)
Kris Bernal, asked if she’s entertaining suitors right now: “Meron naman … Pero sabi ko nga kung magkakaroon ako ng another relationship, ’yung seryoso na … Ayoko kasing magpaasa, eh. Parang, ‘Dito muna tayo sa stage na ’to. Ayoko ng expectations, ayoko ng demands, ayoko ng pressure!’” (That’s a yes, obviously.)
Bianca King on her relationship with Dennis Trillo’s son Calix: “Sobrang lambing niya sa ’kin. Nag-e-exert talaga ako ng effort para mapalapit sa kanya. May natural motherly instincts ako at saka may nature ako nang pagiging teacher.” (He’s already got a mother; careful where and how you tread.)
Nora Aunor, asked if Brillante Mendoza was strict on the set of “Thy Womb”: “Hindi, wala nga kaming ginawa kundi magtawanan sa set … Saka walang star-star doon. Lahat kapag magkakasama, pantay-pantay lahat.”(Oh, we heard you did more than laugh.)
Nora Aunor, asked if she’s willing to work with Judy Ann Santos: “Naku, kahit anong oras. Mahal ko ’yun, eh … Ay, hinihintay ko siya!”(Calling Juday—La Aunor is waiting! Teka, di ba si Mega ang show biz nanay mo?)
Annabelle Rama, asked if her family approves of her plans to enter politics: “’Yan nga ang problema diyan, kaya right now wala pa akong sinasabi kung yes or no … Kailangan kasi lahat sila pumayag para maging successful … Si Richard nag-react … Si Raymond, si Elvis, si Ruffa galit talaga sa ’kin. Huwag na raw dahil magulo na raw ang mundo ko sa show biz … Bahala na ang nasa itaas.” (Tama! ’Wag na nga lang siguro.)
Derek Ramsay on people saying that her breakup with Angelica Panganiban was just a publicity stunt for the latter’s movie “Every Breath U Take”: “Nakakainsulto naman kay Angel. Let’s be fair to Angel … ’Di naman siguro sila gagawa ng gimik na ganyan para lang kumita ang isang pelikula … It’s not fair for her na people are judging her that way, and it’s not fair to me na people are judging me this way.” (Worse have been done in the name of marketing, guys—as if you didn’t know. We’ll be sure it’s a gimmick, if it dies down when the movie’s run ends.)
Boy Abunda on people protesting Lady Gaga’s Manila concert: “Doon po sa naniniwala na she’s violating your sensibilities, then please don’t watch her. Pero that doesn’t mean na pipigilan niyo po ang may gustong manood kay Lady Gaga.” (Well said … we do live in a democracy. And many other things have violated our sensibilities, actually.)
Miriam Quiambao, asked if she lost some of her gay friends after saying that homosexuality is “a lie from the devil”: “Hindi, in fact, mas marami pa nga akong nagiging ka-close ngayon! … Ako’y nag-e-express lang ng aking opinyon na pinaniniwalaan ko galing sa Bibliya. Hindi ako galit sa LGBT. Mahal ko sila, gaya ng naramdaman kong pagmamahal ng Diyos para sa ’kin … If there’s anybody who felt offended, I’m sorry. But I will stand by what I believe in, and I will not retract my statement because it’s the truth that comes from God.” Mag-text mates kaya sila?)
Angeline Quinto on “courting” “Born to Love You” leading man Coco Martin: “Sa tingin ko po eh malapit na! Stage 4 na nga po, eh!” (Atta girl!)
(Spoken like an adult.)
