MARTIN ESCUDERO: Pleasantly surprised by rave review

A New York Times article by Floyd Whaley took note of “new ambitions” in Philippine cinema. It recounted that the indie movie “Zombadings 1: Patayin sa Shokot si Remington” was a “surprising success.” “Studios were put on notice.” It also reported that the producers of “The Road,” which premiered in the US yesterday, hope that “they can bridge the gap between Filipino and American audiences.” Bayani San Diego Jr.
