Knowledge as investment

/ 08:39 PM April 20, 2012

THE biggest investment parents can give their children is time.

“INVEST IN knowledge, and turn it into action. This will give your child the security he needs.” This was the message of Mary Ann Muñoz, founder of Stone Castle Learning Center, when she talked about “Managing A Special Child” recently.

She said that the biggest investment parents can give their children is time. “The parents of a special child always feel insecure about how to sustain their education, therapy, and other special needs. But, arming themselves with the right knowledge gives them a sense of security!”

Muñoz knows whereof she speaks: When her only child was diagnosed with autism, she became curious about special education (SPED). She has degrees in Communication Arts, Special Education and Educational Management. Her vision for Stone Castle Learning Center is to provide a one-stop shop for preschool children with (or without) special needs.

The school believes in the uniqueness of each individual, regardless of age and intellectual and social background. Its summer workshops include programs in arts and crafts, culinary sciences, social play for toddlers, math, and reading and writing.
